1. California School for the Deaf (Fremont)

2. Indiana School For The Deaf
The Indiana school was founded in 1844 and became the first state supported school in America to provide a free education to deaf children.

4. Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center

5. Louisiana School for the Deaf
The school serves the entire state of Louisiana and is a 24 hour residential facility. LSD is a comprehensive educational program serving the social and educational needs of students who are deaf, deaf-blind, and deaf multihandicapped.

8. Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf

9. Missouri School for the Deaf
Missouri provides a well-rounded educational program for the deaf children of the state through the facilities and services of the Missouri School for the Deaf. The Missouri Legislature established MSD in 1851, and it is the oldest state supported school of its kind west of the Mississippi River.

10. New York School for the Deaf

11. North Carolina School for the Deaf
NCSD provides a free appropriate education for deaf and hard of hearing children in the western portion of North Carolina. Enrollment is approximately 300.

12. Oklahoma School for the Deaf
A concurrent resolution passed by the Oklahoma Legislature in March 1982 designated the Oklahoma School for the Deaf as a statewide resource center for the needs of deaf children and school districts across the state and that 'such resources shall include the testing, evaluation, academic, vocational, counseling, training, health, and communication services for all persons and school districts which may benefit.'
